Michael Monaghan began working at Monroe #1 BOCES in 2003. He taught Social Studies at the START Program through 2011 until he assumed his current role as Social Studies K-12 Instructional Specialist. Mr. Monaghan also has a role as state liaison for Monroe #1’s component districts. He became a RACSS member in 2012 and was elected as President in the Spring of 2019.
Terry is the K-12 Director of Social Studies and LOTE at the Webster Central School District. Terry started his career as a high school social studies teacher in Newfane, NY, teaching both Global and US. He joined the RACSS board in 2013 and also serves on the New York State Social Studies Supervisors Association Board.
Steve LaMorte has been a middle and high school social studies teacher, an instructional coach, and administrator in the Rochester City Schools. Steve has been a member of the RACSS Board since 2010 and is Past President of the New York State Council for the Social Studies. He serves on the New York State Education Department's Social Studies Civic Readiness Task Force and is currently the Executive Director of Social Studies and Community Service Learning in the Rochester City School District.
Steve has taught Grade 7 social studies in West Irondequoit since 1998 and serves as the Dake Junior High School Social Studies Contact Teacher. Steve has been honored as the New York State Middle School Social Studies Teacher of the Year in 2008 by the NYSCSS and received the same honor from RACSS in 2007. Steve has served in a number of leadership capacities, including 12 years as a Catholic School Principal, President of West Irondequoit Teachers' Association and as the RACSS Vice President for Membership from 2004 until 2010.
